BITSAT or the BITS Admission Test is one of the prominent examinations one has to take to get admission to the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India. This computer-based examination is designed for students who want to be admitted into UG courses in engineering, pharmacy, and science. To be eligible to sit for BITSAT, you must have done your 12th-grade studies with subjects such as Physics, chemistry and mathematics. These are some requirements that apply to the curriculum, but there are no age limits: to apply for this stream, you had to get at least 60% in these subjects. The duration of the exam is three hours and the test comprises one hundred and thirty questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English and Logical Reasoning.

The reason for the BITSAT exam is that you want to get admission to one of the best engineering colleges in India known as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). This exam is for those students who are those who want to join B.E or B.Pharmacy or Science subjects after completing their schooling and willing to join in BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad Campuses. This means that through sitting for the BITSAT exam one can demonstrate his or her prowess in the various areas of learning such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English. It is an understanding check and a problem-solving test of the performance of these topics. It also tests your portion of English and the reasoning portion in you.

1. Registration

When you are ready to register for the BITSAT exam, make sure you have all the necessary details with you before starting the process. You will require some basic details handy so that you can fill out all the information seamlessly.

You will need the details such as your personal information, your patient's name and your date of birth. It is also important to note that you have a valid and active email address as you will be receiving an OTP over there to verify your account identity.

2. Verify Your Email

You will also need a working mobile phone number to get the OTP through SMS. If your phone number is from India, you need to select the country code '+91' from the list.

However, if you are using an international number, the OTP will only be sent to your email for verification. After you have verified your email, you can continue with the registration.

3. Verify Your Details

Have your details ready (Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, DOB, Parent’s Contact Number). Make sure your email address is valid and active. Keep your mobile phone number ready, with the country code selected correctly.

Indian mobile numbers should use '+91' as the country code. International numbers will receive OTP through email only. Complete email validation first to move on to the next steps.

When you register for the BITSAT exam, the fees depend on how many times you choose to take the test. If you want to appear for the exam twice, the fee is Rs. 5400 for male candidates and Rs. 4400 for female candidates. However, if you decide to appear only once in Session-1, the fee is Rs. 3400 for male candidates and Rs. 2900 for female candidates. Fee for appearing twice: Rs. 5400 (male) and Rs. 4400 (female). Fee for appearing once in Session-1: Rs. 3400 (male) and Rs. 2900 (female). Additional fee for Session-2 after appearing in Session-1: Rs. 2000 (male) and Rs. 1500 (female). Fee for appearing only in Session-2: Rs. 3400 (male) and Rs. 2900 (female). Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
BITSAT 2025 is expected to be conducted in two sessions, with tentative dates for Session 1 from May 20 to May 24, 2025, and for Session 2 from June 24 to June 28, 2025.

The BITSAT, or Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, is an online computer-based examination that assesses your knowledge and skills in various subjects. The test is conducted in the English language and lasts for three hours. You will encounter a total of 130 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) across five sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. Each correct answer will earn you 3 marks, while incorrect answers will result in a deduction of 1 mark. If you choose not to attempt a question, you will neither gain nor lose any marks. Additionally, if you manage to attempt all 130 questions, you will have the opportunity to answer 12 more questions (3 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Logical Reasoning) if time permits.

The BITSAT exam pattern is divided into five sections: Physics: 40 questions, Chemistry: 40 questions, Mathematics/Biology: 45 questions, English Proficiency: 15 questions, and Logical Reasoning: 10 questions

The marking scheme for the BITSAT is as follows: +3 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each incorrect answer, and 0 marks for unattempted questions
