The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains is a national level exam conducted by NTA in two sessions. It is conducted every year in January & April month. Admission is offered to candidates in UG Engineering programmes.

JEE Main is an entry-level exam with a lower level of difficulty. It comprises of two papers. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other prestigious institutions. It is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admissions to IITs.

1. Visit the JEE Main Registration Website

Visit the official JEE Main Registration NTA website jeemain.nta.ac.in and click on the 2025 registration link.

2. Select New Candidate Registration

Select the 'New Candidate Registration' option to begin the registration process.

3. Choose Registration Mode

Select your preferred registration mode through Aadhar enrollment number/PAN/Passport or ABC ID.

4. Fill Out Registration Form

Fill in the registration form with the necessary details and create a password of your choice.

5. Submit Registration Form

Click on the 'Submit' button. You will receive your JEE Main registration number and password on the registered mobile phone and email ID.

6. Log In and Complete Application

Log in using the details provided. Fill in all the information asked in the application form, then scan and upload the necessary documents and photographs.

7. Pay Application Fees

Pay the JEE Main fees 2025 through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.

JEE Main 2025 Admit card will be available for download online on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates who apply for both sessions will be issued separate admit cards for both January and April session.

The JEE Main exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 for BTech/BE and Paper 2 for BArch/BPlan. JEE Main exam for BE/BTech courses consists of 90 MCQs carrying 300 marks. The JEE Main exam 2025 will be conducted online in 13 languages - Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu in addition to Hindi, English, and Gujarati.

JEE Main Paper 2 is further divided into two papers, Paper 2A and 2B, and is held separately for BArch and BPlan respectively. JEE Main Paper 2A for BArch will consist of 82 questions carrying 400 marks and BPlan will consist of 105 MCQs totaling 400 marks. JEE Main Paper 2 will be conducted online except for the drawing section of paper 2A, which is conducted offline.

Qualified candidates from JEE Main 2024 can view for admission to various institutes, while JEE Advanced rank holders will also be considered for IIT admission via JoSAA. This process covers admission to multiple prestigious institutions and is facilitated through JoSAA counselling.
The result of JEE Mains will be announced around 1 week after the conclusion of the exam. NTA will release the JEE Main scorecard online on the website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates will need to login to the website to download their JEE Main 2025 result. Candidates must log in to the JEE Mains 2025 result check online link using their application number and date of birth to check their scorecards. The JEE Main 2025 result will mentions details of percentile scores obtained by the candidate in each subject and the aggregate percentile score.

Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats are reserved. Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non – Creamy layer (NCL) – 27% of seats are reserved. General Economically Weaker Sections (General – EWS) – 10% of the seats are reserved. A reservation of 5% in every category for candidates with 40% or more disability.

To clear this exam, JEE Main previous year question papers play a major role. It is also essential to be aware of the updated syllabus of JEE Main 2025 for complete preparation.

Open the website nta.ac.in/Downloads. Click on Download Mock Test which will download the mock papers as ZIP files. Alternatively, students can select the year, exam (JEE Main), and paper to download mock test papers. Students can take print of the papers to solve or can practice directly on the computer.

The authority will announce the JEE Main 2025 answer key release date on the official website. Students can check the NTA JEE Mains answer key 2025 release date to know the availability of the answer key. The release date for the JEE Main answer key 2025 will be updated in the table below once it is officially announced.

The JEE Mains 2025 cutoff will be available after the result is announced. For the admission and institute allotments, JoSAA tends to release the admission cut-off separately after every round of allotment. This being the reason, the cut-off stays different depending on the categories, institute, and course. NTA has not yet released the official JEE Mains Cut-off 2025.
On exam day, candidates must make sure they have the following items with them without fail: JEE Mains 2025 admit card, Original photo identity card, Pens, Pencils, and Drinking water in a transparent bottle.
Candidates must not carry any of the below items at the JEE Mains exam centre: Smart/digital/programmable watches, Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, Earphones, Microphones etc.
Reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the starting time for smooth entry.
Organise all necessary documents and stationery the day before to avoid any last-minute rush.
It is suggested to wear light-coloured, half-sleeved and comfortable clothes. Shoes are not allowed to be worn inside the examination hall.

Students must start their JEE Mains preparation early. It will help them complete and revise the syllabus timely, and appear for the mock tests. Next, prepare a suitable timetable and stick to it throughout the preparation. Try to cover the entire syllabus

Students must have an in-depth understanding of all the basic as well as advanced concepts. It can be done by solving questions regularly. Maintain good health and mental stability. JEE preparation can be stressful. Take time off or breaks between study hours and relax.
