SIU’s reservation policy is designed to provide equal educational opportunities to a diverse range of candidates. This policy ensures that specific groups, who may face social or economic disadvantages, have access to higher education. The policy covers various categories including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Differently Abled Candidates, and children or wards of Defence Personnel. Each group has a specific percentage of seats reserved in the programmes offered by the university.

For example, SC candidates have 15% of seats reserved, while ST candidates have 7.5%. Differently, Abled Candidates have 3% of seats reserved, covering various disabilities such as vision and hearing impairments. Additionally, children or wards of Defence Personnel benefit from a significant reservation, particularly in the MBA programme at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), with 80% reserved.

There is also a 25% reservation for domiciled candidates at the Nagpur campus, ensuring residents have opportunities for admission. For international candidates, a quota of up to 20% is available. Candidates must provide the necessary documentation to validate their category status and select the correct category during application, as changes cannot be made later.

Scheduled Castes (SC): 15% of seats reserved.

Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5% of seats reserved.

Differently Abled Candidates: 3% of seats reserved, including disabilities like vision or hearing impairments, and more.
