Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2024 have to be eligible based on any of the criteria mentioned below:

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with the minimum percentage of marks.
Completed specialised qualifications for specific posts such as:Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor's Degree in any subject with a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level or Bachelor's degree with Statistics as one of the subjects. Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor's degree with Statistics as one of the subjects in all years/semesters. Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer: Desirable qualifications are CA, CMA, CS, or Master's degree in Commerce, Business Studies, Business Administration (Finance) or Business Economics.
For final year Bachelor's degree students, provided the Bachelor's degree is received and submitted to the Institute latest by August 1, 2024, with the prescribed percentage.
Note: Age limit varies with posts, minimum 18 to 32 years, age relaxation applicable for categories like SC/ST, OBC, and PwD as per government norms.

1. Visit the website

Visit the official SSC website at www.ssc.nic.in and register yourself by filling in basic details to generate an ID and password.

2. Start Registration

After logging in with your Registration ID and Password, fill in the detailed application form, and make sure to select examination centres near your area.

3. Pay the application fee

The application fee for SSC CGL 2024 is ₹100 for general category candidates. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, Ex-servicemen categories, and female candidates do not have to pay any fee.

4. Submit the form

Double-check all the information provided before final submission. Once submitted, no changes can be made to the application form.

The SSC CGL 2024 admit card is an essential document for all candidates appearing for the examination.

Note the following while acquiring the admit card: Only candidates who have successfully registered and paid the SSC CGL application fee can download the SSC CGL 2024 admit card. The SSC CGL 2024 exam will follow a structured pattern of multiple-choice questions designed to evaluate candidates across various subjects. The duration of the paper will be 60 minutes, with candidates attempting questions across different sections as per the exam tier.

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two tiers. Tier I is a computer-based test (CBT) with a duration of 60 minutes.

The Tier-I exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

Each section contains 25 questions, making the total number of questions 100. Candidates earn two marks for every correct answer. Additionally, for each incorrect answer, 0.50 marks are deducted.

The maximum achievable score in Tier I is 200. Attempting all questions is not mandatory.

Tier-II is also a computer-based test but is divided into multiple papers:

Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts): Includes sections on Quantitative Abilities, English Language & Comprehension, and Reasoning & General Intelligence, lasting for a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Paper-II (For candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer): Focuses on Statistics, with a duration of 2 hours.

Paper-III (For candidates applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer): Focuses on General Studies (Finance and Economics) with a duration of 2 hours.

For each incorrect answer in Tier II, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for Paper I and 0.50 marks for Paper II and Paper III. The maximum achievable score in Tier II varies depending on the papers attempted.

As per the government norms, the reservation for the SSC CGL exam is as follows:

Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%

Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%

Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%

Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 4%

The PwD category includes:

Blindness and low vision

Deaf and hard of hearing

Locomotor disability

Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness

The SSC CGL exam 2024 will follow certain guidelines which are a set of instructions that are required to be adhered to by the candidates in order to endure the safety, integrity, and the smooth conduction of the examination.
Late entry to the exam hall will not be permitted under any circumstances. It is recommended that candidates plan their travel to the venue well in advance. Candidates must report to the examination center at the time mentioned on their admit card.
