The SSC CGL 2024 exam will follow a structured pattern of multiple-choice questions designed to evaluate candidates across various subjects. The duration of the paper will be 60 minutes, with candidates attempting questions across different sections as per the exam tier.
The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two tiers. Tier I is a computer-based test (CBT) with a duration of 60 minutes.
The Tier-I exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
Each section contains 25 questions, making the total number of questions 100. Candidates earn two marks for every correct answer. Additionally, for each incorrect answer, 0.50 marks are deducted.
The maximum achievable score in Tier I is 200. Attempting all questions is not mandatory.
Tier-II is also a computer-based test but is divided into multiple papers:
Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts): Includes sections on Quantitative Abilities, English Language & Comprehension, and Reasoning & General Intelligence, lasting for a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Paper-II (For candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer): Focuses on Statistics, with a duration of 2 hours.
Paper-III (For candidates applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer): Focuses on General Studies (Finance and Economics) with a duration of 2 hours.
For each incorrect answer in Tier II, there is a negative marking of 1 mark for Paper I and 0.50 marks for Paper II and Paper III. The maximum achievable score in Tier II varies depending on the papers attempted.
